SUMMER DRESSES AND SPARKLY RINGS

By 14:22

So this fathers day was a little different for me, as my brother has just got engaged to his girlfriend Hollie, and the whole family joined in celebration in the sun yesterday. The party was held in Hollie's back garden with a marquee and posh tables, so i thought a pretty floral dress would suit the occasion perfectly.

I opted for a mid-length dress as it hasn't been sunny enough for me to get a tan just yet (sad face.) The dress was really feminine but i love how the lace up sides show a bit of skin! I chose these gorgeous suede tasselled wedges, and the thick heel made them really comfortable which was good as i was walking around mingling all afternoon. I grabbed my trusty gold clutch bag and there you go!! I like how the overall outfit gave a bit of a nod to the whole seventies trend that's going on at the moment without being too overpowering!

MAKEUP

In terms of makeup i wanted to compliment the dress so went for a bold red lipstick straight away. I didn't think for a while that red lipstick would suit me because of my hair colour, but i actually really like it, i think it just depends what shade i choose! This is the best lipstick ever, it stays on all day and when i wear it with lipliner as well it really lasts, even when i eat. I opted for gold smoky eyes to compliment my lips, and added a bit of a darker edge on the lower lashes just to bring out my eyes a bit. I tend not to wear too much face makeup but as it was a special occasion i wore a bit more than usual. I went for a bit of a bronzed look (as bronzed as a ginger with the complexion of Caspar can be)
