WHAT MY FACE WORE

By 05:11

Today i thought i'd do a little makeup post to let you guys know what makeup i wear day-to-day. As i'm sure you're all aware the weather has been mad hot these past few days, so any heavy eye makeup was a no go for me, especially as i've been at work all week- i don't think customers would be too impressed if they had a panda serving them their food. This photo was taken a few days ago, the day after i went shopping (click here to see my haul post) so it was the first opportunity i had to wear my new makeup and use my new brushes which was pretty exciting for me.

I always like to use a primer and a base before i put on any makeup, and i find Soap and Glory's 'Bright here Bright now' brilliant to use as not only a highlighter but also a moisturiser to apply before foundation to create a bit of a glow. Now, it's no secret that i'm not exactly tanned, so i always have to be careful when it comes to using the right foundations and bronzer- too much can leave my face matching my hair which is not a desirable look. My maybelline foundation is perfect for me- it gives me a good colour and coverage without looking caked on, and when i apply it with my Real Techniques stippling brush it goes on really evenly too.

I'm not really into the whole contouring thing as much as other people but i do like to create a bit of shape so i used my bronzer along with my (new) Real Techniques sculpting brush to contour my face a bit. I applied the bronzer in a 3 kind of shape along both sides of my face. In terms of concealer, i tend to use quite a lot, especially under my eyes as i'm always getting dark circles, so i used my concealer brush (another Real Techniques-they really are the best) under and in the corners of my eyes just to brighten them up a bit, as well as under my brow bone.

I'm not a fan of the natural shape of my brows but i'm willing to work with what mother nature gave me and i find Maybelline's 'brow satin' great as it has a pencil side for creating the shape, and a spongy applicator side with the colour on it to fill. I secure my brows with a bit of clear mascara as they tend to be a bit wild. As i said before, i didn't want too much eye make up on this particular day as it was really hot so i used my mac eyeshadow on my upper lids and under my lower lash line, which i think opened my eyes a bit and stopped me looking tired. I got a free sample of Mac mascara when i went shopping so i used that on my lashes and i was actually pretty surprised at how natural they came out- but i really like the effect!

For my lips i chose my new Mac lipstick as i love the shade- it gives my lips a splash of colour and stays on all day, as well as looking natural.

Here's a list of all the makeup i used!

Rimmel 'Stay matte' primer: 003
Soap and Glory 'Bright here Bright now' Instant boost energy balm (as moisturiser and highlighter)
