COLOUR FORECAST A/W 16/17

By 08:57

One of the perks of studying fashion is that we get to use one of the worlds best trend forecasting websites, WGSN. Today I've been looking at colour predictions for Autumn/Winter 16/17 and it's so interesting to see how trends move in circles. I also find it really cool that I can see what people are going to be wearing in two or three years time, it makes me feel like a time traveller or something (wouldn't that be amazing?)

Anyway, here's a few pictures showing what I've been looking at, and the colour's we'll all be wearing next winter!

FIZZY POP
In this little moodboard I've created, we can see that in the A/W of 16/17 colour will take a retro turn with soft sherbet shades of pink and crisp green. I absolutely adore these colours, I think they are so fun and refreshing and I can really see a 60's/70's reference here.

MUSTARD MIX UP
I am a big fan of yellow shades, i really love this mustard colour that we'll be seeing a lot of next year. The contrast of the splash of apple green next to a more mature yellow gold is so refreshing. In this colour prediction there will also be hints of burgundy and stone grey to balance out the palette.

CLASH
Another colour trend that will be big next year is the clashing of bright fiery reds and hot pinks. I absolutely love this trend, it's so bold and feisty, and it makes such a statement. A cool icy blue will be used to break these two colours up, and calm things down with hints of fluorescent yellows and espresso browns.

So, what can you see yourself wearing in two years time?
