AUTUMN RESOLUTIONS

By 13:03

Okay so i know it's slightly too early for resolutions, but Autumn is my favourite season, and this year there's a few things i'd like to accomplish before Christmas, so i thought why wait for New Year? Some things are completely small and shallow, but others are pretty big (to me anyway) so i'm sure it'll be a challenge.

1. Be kinder to myself
This one seems pretty self centred, but i'm one of those people that quite often sacrifices my own happiness/emotions/feelings to please other people. While that can sometimes be a good thing, lately I have got myself into a few situations that could've been avoided if I'd only put myself first. This resolution also means i need to try and stop comparing myself to other people, or looking in the mirror and finding fault with myself as i'm sure we all (especially us girls) do. But I'm going to try and make it my mission to accept the fact that no, i do not look like Suki Waterhouse, no, i never will, and yes, that is absolutely okay.

2. Buy loads of shoes
It sounds superficial but for the last few winters I've concentrated on increasing one part of my wardrobe. Last year it was coats and jackets (i bought 4 in total) and this year it's shoes. I recently made a little 'shoedrobe' in my room and it made me realise the lack of colours and different styles i've got. I've already started on this one, by ordering two pairs of shoes from Asos yesterday.

3. Listen to more music
Whenever i'm not working, i always try and cram so much in to my days off. Even when i don't go out, i find myself being like 'okay so lets watch loads of films today!' Sometimes i forget how nice it is to just lay on my bed listening to music. Spotify has become my new best friend, and since going premium I've discovered loads of new artists and playlists that i never would've listened to. I always seem to be in a good mood after chilling out with some music so its definitely on the list to do more often!

4. Do yoga everyday
Yoga is a big part of my life and has been for a good 6 months now. I did it every single day and i grew so much in flexibility and stamina, but since starting work i barely get time to do it more than 3 times a week. When i start back at uni i'm going to start doing it reguarly again, i find my overall mood and even my confidence/self esteem problems/ anxiety is kept at bay when i do yoga everyday.

5. Put in for my driving test
This was originally going to be 'pass my driving test' but i thought that might be a bit too ambitious. I've been learning for ages now and i think the only thing stopping me from putting in for my test is lack of belief in myself. Time to man up Bryony!

6. Care less what people think
This kind of relates to number one. I'm always more concerned about other people than i am about myself. I'm a pretty relaxed person which can sometimes result in people (whether they mean to or not) walking all over me. I need to stop my laid back nature from being mistaken for being a pushover, and in order to do that, i need to stop caring what people think. I need to accept that not everybody is going to like me, or agree with me, or think i'm pretty or that my outfit is nice, and that's okay.

7. Go for a weekend break
I've been working a lot lately and i'm going back to uni next week so in October i'd quite like to go for a weekend away with a friend. My friend Rachel and I are planning to go for a weekend away in Brighton, a place i absolutely love.

8. Print more photos
Without sounding like my grandparents, something has definitely been lost in this generation when it comes to printing photos. My parents have hundreds of photos from when they were my age but i'm worried that when i get to their age i'll have nothing to look back on, because it'll all be (lost) in the iCloud somewhere. Therefore, i'm making it my mission to print loads of photos before Christmas.

9. Blog consistently
This is probably a popular one amongst bloggers, and there's not much need to explain it. I am going to start carrying around my little ideas notebook around with me everywhere so i constantly have fresh ideas for the blog.

10. Knuckle down at uni
I'm going into my second year at uni next week (incase you didn't know, i study fashion communications and marketing- you probably don't care, but you never know) and this is apparently when the hard work really starts. I'm going to make uni my priority over everything else this year, it's my future career after all!

So there you go! Do you have any Autumn/Winter resolutions this year? Let me know in the comments. I hope you're having a great week!

Bryony x
