May has been a really good month for me in terms of discovering new products, so in this blog post i thought it'd share with you what i'm loving this month!
Beverly Hills Formula toothpaste
I've always been quite lucky with my teeth in that I've never had to have braces or much dental care, but i always think its important to look after your teeth and as i'm sure plenty of you know, there's a lot of hype surrounding the new phenomenon 'coco white's', something that i'd also quite like to try. However, i'm a little strapped for cash at the moment and after spotting this toothpaste in my local Discount UK store i thought i'd give it a go, and i'm really impressed! The one i picked up was the 'sensitive whitening expert'. As well as being great for sensitive teeth, the toothpaste has also been proven to remove 90 percent of stains in just 1 minute, and personally iv'e definitely seen a difference. My teeth look much cleaner and whiter after only a few weeks of using it, and it tastes really nice! I'm definitely going to look into buying their new toothpaste 'Perfect white/black toothpaste' which has activated charcoal in it which is said to remove tannins from the surface of the teeth without damaging the enamel.
Tisserand Aromatherapy Floral Ethically Harvested Lavender Pure Essential Oil
I've always loved the smell of lavender, it's really soothing and helps me relax. I had a really bad few months back in March/April and didn't sleep properly for weeks, so my mum came home one day with this. I put a few drops on my pillow and quilt and slept like a baby for the first time in weeks, and I have used it everyday since. I also like to drop a bit onto my yoga mat when i do yoga as it smells gorgeous! You don't need much so it lasts for ages, and you can also apply it directly onto the skin in places like your temples which can really soothe a headache, or into your bath which i'm yet to try. It'll be available in most pharmacy's or places like Holland and Barrett.
Soap and Glory Off Your Face makeup wipes
I've been a massive fan of Soap and Glory for years now, and i suddenly remembered a couple of weeks ago while i was in Boots that i needed some wipes, so picked these up without really thinking about it. They smell gorgeous, but unlike many fragranced wipes, they are really gentle on the skin. It says on the packet that they are pore-minimising and protect black head build up, and since i've been using them, my skin has cleared up SO much! I had a really bad breakout before i started using them and within a few days my spots were almost completely gone, i'd definitely recommend these! You get a really good amount in the pack as well, so they last for ages.
HiBrow Growth and Conditioning serum for Brows and Lashes
This was a completely spontaneous buy, when i was in my local Rollingstock i saw this on the shelf. I'm normally quite sceptical on this kind of product because it's never really worked for me but it was reduced so i thought i'd take a chance. I've been using it on my brows and lashes every day for about a week now and can honestly say i've seen such a difference. I've been trying to grow out my eyebrows for ages (a very frustrating process) and this has definitely sped things up, and it's the same story for my eyelashes. The mascara wand makes it really easy to use, and the brush is especially good for grooming the brows into shape and keeps them in place. The product contains keratin and caffeine based ingredients, which enhances and stimulates healthy hair growth. It's quite expensive at £19.99, but it will last for ages.
Exercise ball
I've been after one of these for ages and decided to bite the biscuit and buy one off Amazon. I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases i've ever made! I try to incorporate it into my abs routine at least 3-4 times a week and since doing it i've already seen a difference. It just adds a bit of extra resistance to normal crunches etc. It also makes a really comfortable seat when i'm doing my makeup!
Burts Bees beeswax lip balm
I'm always getting dry lips (probably through talking so much) and while vaseline is a quick fix, after half an hour or so my lips have gone back to being sore and dry. I'd heard a lot of good things about Burts Bees so decided to try this grapefruit fragranced lip balm, it contains coconut, sunflower oil and beeswax (obviously) and it's really soothed my lips, leaving them feeling soft all the time. It's also a really good size, so really easy to carry it around.
Camomile tea
I am one of the 1% of the population that doesn't drink coffee or tea, but what i do love is herbal teas, especially green tea and peppermint. As I've previously mentioned, I've not been sleeping very well lately, and camomile is a great drink for before i go to bed as its really calming. There's loads of brands available but this particular one is from Aldi and its lovely!
Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation
I never really use foundation, I'd always stick to CC creams instead but i found i wasn't getting much coverage, and being so pale i felt like i didn't have much colour, so after a lot of deliberation i decided to buy this one after using a free sample in a magazine. I was worried i might get spots but it hasn't happened, its really lightweight and blends really well into the skin (especially when i use my new real techniques stippling brush that i forgot to take photo of-damn.) It stays on all day but looks really natural, and the applicator is in a tear dropped shape which means i can decide how much to put on depending on how bad my skin is that day. I'd definitely recommend this as it's only around £8!
So there you go! I'll try and remember to do a new favourites post each month from now on :)
