LONDON FASHION WEEK: DAY FOUR

By 09:02

On to day four of London fashion week!

ANTONIO BERARDI

Antonio Berardi taught us a masterclass in smart casual dressing in this collection. Parka jackets, trousers and shearling coats were dressed up with frills, sequins and embellishments. I absolutely love the leaf prints scattered across scarves, peplums and dresses. Pink, cerise, lilac and yellow provided the colour palette for the collection inspired by the architectural work of Frank Gehry. A winning collection.

CHRISTOPHER KANE

Christopher Kane's collection was tinged with sadness this LFW as his mother sadly passed away just 3 days before the show, and un-surpsingly he dedicated the show to her. The show opened with a smattering of black smoking suits with bright red and purple velvet appliqués. There was high shine metallic dresses, wafting and ruffled silk dresses and lurex sweaters. The silhouette of naked bodies that Kane named 'lovers lace' was a recurring motif that occurred on dresses and suits throughout the show, inspired by a life drawing class that he hosted at his studio for all of his team to take part in.

GILES

This collection was traditional Giles style with gothic victorian vibes. The clothes were haunting with velvet with crisp ruffled collars, and bows re-appearing throughout the show. The models struck poses to match their extravagant gowns and with models like Erin O'Connor and Lily Donaldson wearing his creations, it's no surprise that this Giles show caught everybody's attention.

PETER PILOTTO

Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos took inspiration from board games for this carefree and youthful collection. Neon brights of pink, yellow, green and blue were the colours of choice, and fun game-like motifs such as connect 4 mazes, and pinball circuits were printed across dresses, coats, skirts and tops. Snowflake motifs were also seen across winter white ensembles for the shows opening.
