PRACTISE SHOOT: SEVENTIES

By 14:02

After choosing the seventies as one of my trends, the next thing to do was to put together some clothes and do some test shots ready for the real shoot next week. I wanted to go for a festival kind of look, but one that was suitable for Autumn/Winter.

I went for a colour palette of burnt oranges, dark red and brown, but added a brightness to the outfit with the knitted mustard tank top. I chose an A-line button down denim skirt with black knitted tights, and a striped cape. I chose a denim mini skirt because not only is denim a key trend this season and will undoubtedly be seen again next season, but the stiffer material breaks up the knitted texture of the cape and top. A camel coloured floppy hat and matching fringed bag tied the outfit together. I chose to opt for really simple hair, i let Elise just have it naturally and applied minimal makeup. I think this look needs polishing up but i'm happy with the styling, you can definitely tell what era i'm basing it on but it still looks modern enough to be worn in 2015/2016.
