COUTURE TRENDS: MAKEUP

By 02:41

I've got a feeling that 2015 is going to be the season of makeup, and what better way to get inspiration for our Spring/Summer makeup bags than to have a look at all of the looks we saw at Couture week? Lets get straight into it.

Black Smoke

The black smokey eye is a favourite of mine, and this time they appeared with a smudged, worn in finish, especially at La Perla and Jean Paul Gaultier. A slightly punk look is created by smudging eyeliner along the upper and lower lash line before fading into a lighter grey on the upper lid and under the eye. Vercace stuck to their classic bold style, with thick black eyeliner drawn around the eye and back up into the crease of the lid.

SOFT METALLICS

Silver shades were a key trend for the eyes at Couture week, and black eyeliner or shadow was used to bring depth to the look. Armarni Prive added subtle gold lines in the crease and lower lash line, while Tony Ward blended an icy metallic eyeshadow with blue undertones into a dark grey for a slightly more dramatic effect.

DON'T MAKE ME BLUSH

Girlish rosy cheeks were seen a lot on the runways, with cream or powered blusher applied heavily to the apples of the cheeks for a youthful, doll like appearance. Lips were painted in a similar shade of pink, while at Julien Foumié and Dice Hayek, black eyeliner was used in different ways to balance the look out.

(NOT SO) BLURRED LINES

The eyes were the main focus of attention for these four designers, with black lines used in various shapes and thicknesses, and applied on either the lid, under the eye or around the corners. Dice Hayek models worse just two false lashes applied in the centre of the eye with a single line of black liner underneath, while Stephane Rolland opted for a more classic look with eyeliner applied along the upper lash line.
