PARIS COUTURE PART TWO

By 13:29

Here is the second part of my favourite collections from this years Paris Couture week.

Ralph&Russo

The Ralph and Russo collection for me rivalled the likes of Dior and Valentino at Couture week. The designers showcased their extreme skill with heavy and ornate embroidery, dipped hem ball gowns and ballet inspired tulle skirts. This is one of my favourite collections of all. While some designers are showing more futuristic, modern collections, Ralph and Russo are sticking to the couture ideal, which for me is just stunning!

Zuhair Murad

Here are some dresses i can really imagine being worn on the red carpet (or by me, in my dreams)
I absolutely love the sheer touches, and a reoccurring creation in this collection was embellished capes, which bought a more contemporary edge. The only criticism i would have of this collection is that it is very similar to Elie Saab, however the dresses are still absolutely gorgeous and well deserving of a slot on the couture runway.

Valentino

Trust Valentino to bring a touch of romance to the runway. The designers were inspired by 'love in it's purest form' for the S/S15 couture show, and portrayed this idea through time. One of my favourite pieces is the heavily embroided baby doll dress (bottom middle). I just love how this collection brings a very medieval, artisan tone, but each piece would fit easily and stylishly into the present day.

Ulyana Sergeenko

I'll admit that up until couture week, I'd never heard of this designer, and I was so excited to discover her. Ulyana is a Russian designer, and her background inspires many of her designs, giving an exquisitely ornate, traditional look that quite simply takes your breath away. My favourite is the blue jumpsuit (bottom right) I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for this designer in the future.
